Careers Services for organisations

I offer independent, high quality careers services to schools and colleges, including one to one guidance sessions, group sessions and presentations for all year groups as well as parents. Services can be tailored to complement your existing provision and will allow you to meet the statutory requirements for schools to provide access to independent careers advice for their students. I have been working in school and college settings for years and have an up to date enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Benefits to you

Good quality careers guidance has many benefits for students and their schools or colleges. It helps to raise students’ aspirations, opening their eyes to the range of options available and how to achieve them. By supporting the development of goals and by making realistic plans of how to reach them, students can develop confidence and improve their motivation.  As part of the other support education institutions offer, careers guidance can help to lower NEET numbers and improve attendance and the positive progression for students.

Available services include

  • One to one careers guidance sessions – to be effective, 45-60 minutes should be allowed for each student. This gives opportunity to students to discuss their individual ideas and aspirations, to explore options, ask questions and develop a plan of how to move forward with their career planning. Each student will also receive detailed notes from the session, including further resources.
  • Informative and inspirational talks for parents, students or staff on education and training options
  • Group sessions tailored to your requirements – this allows a number of students access to independent information, raises their awareness of the variety of options available to them and enables them to make individual decisions (topics can include post 16 choices, post 18 choices, apprenticeships, university education and job applications or other topics relevant to your students)
  • Attendance at your careers events / parents evenings – giving parents and students opportunity to ask questions

Please feel free to contact me for an informal discussion of your requirements.
